Pi Xiu, jewelry and Feng Shui

Pi Xiu (貔貅), what are its powers and influences in Feng Shui jewelry?
Mythology.
Pi Xiu, also called Pi Yao or Tian Lu , is a creature from Chinese mythology. He is the ninth son of the Jade Emperor 's celestial dragon . He lives in Heaven and is often depicted sitting on Chinese coins to signify his protection of fortune and wealth. Pi Xiu is one of the most popular symbols used in Feng Shui and is recommended by all Feng Shui masters, whether for the home or the office. Pi Xiu is also found on jewelry such as bracelets , pendants, and necklaces. Pi Xiu's origins are believed to date back to the Han Dynasty, between 206 BC and 220 AD. Pi Xiu was originally called "tao ba" in the Book of Han, an ancient historical text of China.

A dragon's head and a lion's body.
Physically, it is depicted with a dragon's head , a horn, a lion's body , wings, and a tail. It has bulging eyes and sharp teeth. Pi Xiu (貔貅), the male responsible for wealth, should not be confused with Bi Xie (辟邪), the female. Bi Xie has two horns, while Pi Xiu has only one. It has a fierce appearance, but projects a sense of strength and elegance. It serves as a protector and guardian , attacking demons or evil spirits that threaten its master and his riches. During wars, it was also used as a symbol to reinforce the loyalty, morale, and fighting spirit of soldiers. It is inherently very loyal and obedient .

The legend.
Pi Xiu lived in heaven . One day, having broken a celestial law, the Jade Emperor punished him by forcing him to eat only gold and silver coins . The emperor also ensured that the gold and silver coins remained trapped inside Pi Xiu's stomach, never to leave. Metaphorically, this is the origin of Pi Xiu's symbol of the power to acquire and preserve wealth . In Feng Shui, this also means that when Pi Xiu is placed somewhere, wealth that enters stays there and does not leave.
The jewelry.
Today, Pi Xiu is also a popular motif on pendants, necklaces, bracelets, and amulets. It can be worn as jewelry ; however, it is not recommended to wear many gemstones while wearing Pi Xiu jewelry. It is good to stroke Pi Xiu from time to time and speak to it, asking for good fortune and protection . Also, remember to let it know that you are the master. Pi Xiu will obey you in every way and help you as long as you take care of it. Touching it is also a way to connect with it and reinforce your authority as its owner. But do not let others touch it.
The Pi Xiu bracelet should be worn on the left wrist . Wearing it on the right wrist will diminish your fortune and wealth. When wearing a Pi Xiu bracelet, make sure its head faces outwards (towards your little finger). The exception to the left-hand rule is the Pi Xiu with black obsidian , which can be worn on either wrist.

Similarly, for Pi Xiu pendants, make sure its head is facing upwards . Legend says that Pi Xiu walked on clouds and could not go downwards for fear of attracting misfortune.
It must be removed before sleeping or before washing . In this case, you can leave it in the living room, with the head facing the main entrance, so that it protects the house.

Feng Shui.
In ancient times, bronze and jade , precious materials, were most commonly used for making Pi Xiu. But other types of materials such as wood, stone, metal or porcelain were also used.
In Feng Shui , the Pi Xiu plays a very important role, as significant as the tiger or the dragon, for example. Throughout Chinese history, Pi Xiu were commonly used in architecture . Statues of Pi Xiu are generally found at the four corners of the roofs of houses, usually those belonging to important people. The Pi Xiu is aligned in the fifth position , after the dragon , the phoenix, the winged horse, and the seahorse. In ancient China, Pi Xiu statues were also used as tomb guardians . It was also considered a guardian of good fortune and was placed in palaces and the homes of high-ranking officials.
It is said to have an insatiable desire for gold and silver , which is why, in Chinese tradition, it has always been considered a creature capable of bringing and preserving wealth. The Pi Xiu also possesses other powers:
- It protects its owner, their family, and their home. It protects against evil spirits and watches over the family's good health.
- It prevents people with bad intentions from bothering his masters.
- He helps his masters overcome obstacles and difficult moments in life.
- It is a symbol of authority and power , therefore its masters will benefit from the same status and influence.
- There is a traditional saying in China that goes: " touch a Pixiu once and you will have good luck, touch it twice and you will have wealth, and three times and you will have power and authority."

As a symbol of luck and abundance, the Pi Xiu is widely used in offices and homes . There are a few rules to follow when placing a Pi Xiu in the home: it should be placed in a respectful location, facing an entrance door or window, and should be facing outwards. It's worth noting that for the home or office, it's considered auspicious to own and place two Pi Xiu . Pi Xiu are often found in pairs to better protect homes or offices. In the home, it should not be placed in the bedroom, bathroom, or opposite the toilet. It should not be placed facing a bed. The Pi Xiu is believed to leap forward aggressively with its open mouth to retrieve wealth. It should not be positioned facing a mirror , as the reflection of light on the mirror is said to disturb the Pi Xiu. Similarly, it should not be placed facing a television or computer screen. It should not be placed on the ground, and it should never be placed above eye level either, as this would symbolize intimidation of its owners.
In the workplace, a Pi Xiu can be placed on a desk or in a cabinet facing the main entrance or the office door. This conveys a sense of authority; clients will be impressed , suppliers will listen, and the owner will be in a position of power. Using a Pi Xiu statue in businesses, including restaurants, is believed to bring good fortune and wealth . It is beneficial to touch the Pi Xiu occasionally, speak to it, and ask for its protection during business meetings and trips. A small Pi Xiu can also be taken on personal or business trips, as well as to business meetings.
Conclusion
Whether in the form of a statue to place in the home or office according to Feng Shui principles , or as a piece of jewelry , the Pi Xiu will be a loyal and faithful protector for as long as possible for whoever takes good care of it. Above all, it will be a source of wealth , luck, and good health.
