The quqin is the modern name for a Chinese seven-string plucked musical instrument . It has been played since ancient times, and its history dates back more than 5,000 years. It has traditionally been favored by scholars and scholars as an instrument of great subtlety and refinement. It is sometimes referred to by the Chinese as the father of Chinese music or the instrument of the wise. In Imperial China, a well-educated scholar was expected to be proficient in four arts: qin, qi, shu, and hua; in other words, guqin, chess, calligraphy and painting. Much of what we know about Chinese culture can be traced through dynasties and evidence found in archaeological sites across the country.

Book

Old Chinese Bamboo Books Kaosix

Books record human thought and action, they reveal the growth and spirit of a country's culture. Written records existed in ancient China long before the word shu was used , meaning "book", in the early years of the Warring States (402-221 BC). They were in the form of tablets cut from bamboo or other types of dried wood. The tablets were called “dog”. Each “dog” has a line of 8 to 40 characters, as in literary writings, and up to 17 lines, as in official documents and letters. A number of "dogs" tied together with a cord of leather or silk, more or less in the form of a book as it is known in modern times, is called a "tze", which in its usage original was one of the names for the book.

The invention of paper is attributed to the Chinese Ts'ai Lun who in 105 AD reported to Emperor Hoti that experiments in making paper from fibers (probably disintegrated fabrics) had been perfected. Sheets of this paper, made from the bark of the paper mulberry tree, were introduced to the country by Buddhist monks, and in the Nara period (708-806 AD).
